Today was a truly special day for the Newman Primary Choir, as we took our music on tour to a local care home. πΆπ
Our young singers have been working hard this term, and today they had the chance to share their voices beyond the school grounds. From the moment we arrived, the residents greeted us with warmth and excitement. As the choir began to sing, you could see faces light up across the room — smiles, tapping feet, and even a few happy tears.
What stood out most was the genuine connection formed between the children and the residents. Music has a special way of bridging generations, and today was a beautiful reminder of how powerful that connection can be. The performance was incredibly well received, and the children left feeling proud, energised, and inspired.
A huge well done to our choir for representing Newman Primary with such confidence, kindness, and joy. And thank you to the care home staff and residents for welcoming us so warmly! π€β¨
Looking for exciting and enriching activities for your child during the winter break? Several local organisations near Newman School are offering engaging winter kids camps designed to spark creativity, encourage learning, and keep kids active throughout the season. These camps provide a variety of programmes, from sports and outdoor adventures to arts, STEM projects, and holiday-themed workshops.
Winter camps are a great way for children to stay connected with friends, explore new interests, and make the most of their time away from school in a safe, structured, and supportive environment.
